Join Sheridan’s Climate Action Rallies on September 27!

Members of the Sheridan community are invited to join President and Vice Chancellor, Dr. Janet Morrison, to call for action on climate change at peaceful rallies being held on Sheridan’s campuses on Friday, September 27, 2019.

As an institution with a long-standing commitment to sustainable practices, Sheridan is proud to support the growing movement of young people – like Greta Thunberg and countless others – advocating for climate justice and action. We are also pleased to see that our home communities of Brampton, Mississauga and Oakville are working to create climate emergency plans.

Our rallies are being organized by the Mission Zero team to coincide with the global days of action taking place this coming week. Attendees are invited to express themselves in words, songs and poems, or any other creative means.

We will also have a banner during the event for all the participants to sign to show their support for urgent action for our climate. Please note that this is a non-partisan event.

The rally schedule on September 27 is as follows:
• Trafalgar Campus: 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. – Medicine Wheel Garden (Ceremonial Drive loop)
• Hazel McCallion Campus: 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. – Creativity Commons (B-Wing first floor)
• Davis Campus: 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. – Peace Garden (outside B-Wing cafeteria)

Students who have any questions, or wish to speak at the rallies, are asked to email the Mission Zero team at missionzero@sheridancollege.ca.

We also invite you to tweet leading up to and during the event using the hashtags #ClimateActionSheridan and #ClimateStrike.

We hope you will join us on Friday and make your voice heard!
